Dr Krishna Priya V is a Consultant Nephrologist and Renal Transplant Physician with a special interest in kidney transplantation, complex transplant medicine and patient education.
Her approach to nephrology is centred not only on treating kidney disease, but on helping patients understand their condition, participate in decisions about their care and achieve the best possible quality of life.
Why nephrology?
Nephrology appealed to me because it remains deeply connected to internal medicine while bringing together physiology, logic and clinical problem-solving.
The more I understood what the kidneys do—from maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance to acid-base homeostasis and blood pressure regulation—the more fascinating the subject became.

Training in Kidney Transplantation
Dr Krishna Priya completed her nephrology training at Gleneagles Global Hospital, Mumbai, a high-volume kidney transplant centre. During training, she gained clinical exposure to more than 300 kidney transplants, including substantial experience with ABO-incompatible transplantation and the evaluation and management of sensitised transplant recipients.
Her training also provided broad experience across outpatient nephrology, acute and chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, dialysis and complex critical-care nephrology.
Areas of Clinical Interest
Kidney Transplantation
ABO-compatible and ABO-incompatible transplantation, sensitised recipients and long-term transplant care.
Glomerular & Immune-mediated Kidney Disease
Proteinuria, nephrotic and nephritic syndromes, lupus nephritis and renal vasculitis.
Acute & Chronic Kidney Disease
Evaluation and management of AKI and CKD across different stages.
Dialysis & Critical Care Nephrology
Haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney problems in critically ill patients.
Prevention & Patient Education

Making kidney health easier to understand
I believe that understanding your health is an important part of taking better care of it. Kidney disease can be complicated, and patients are often confronted with unfamiliar numbers, investigations and treatment decisions. One of my priorities is to explain these clearly.
